My approach to therapy is guided by you and your needs—you can think of yourself as being in the driver’s seat, with me right next to you. 

We’ll start by gathering background information: what’s led you to seek out therapy, your childhood and family relationships, work stress, relationships, mental health history, and medical history (if appropriate). This will help me gain a good understanding of what’s bringing you to therapy and what areas we’ll be focusing on.

Together, we’ll establish clear goals for therapy: what do you want to work on, and what do you want to see change as a result of our work? These goals will serve as the roadmap for our sessions, and we’ll regularly revisit them to ensure we’re progressing toward the life you want.


This depends on what we’re working on, but the work I do is focused on helping you gain practical skills that you can apply to life outside of therapy. This includes things like:

  • Communication
  • Boundary setting
  • Mindfulness and stress reduction
  • Thought challenging

We also work on processing difficult experiences and emotions, which includes:

  • Grieving and accepting change
  • Exploring past experiences and their impact on the present
  • Gaining clarity about negative circumstances
